The International Conference "Fostering Cooperation in Energy Efficiency and Accessibility in East Africa" took place on 13 & 14 March 2017 in Z Ocean Hotel Kihinani in Zanzibar, Tanzania. It was organised in the framework of the SUCCEED Network and ENRICH projects, financed by the European Commission through the EU-ACP cooperation programmes EDULINK and ACP S&T. The conference was organised by the University of Alicante together with COSTECH and Mzumbe University in Tanzania.


The International Conference aimed to bring together stakeholders involved in the field of Energy from academia, researchers, project managers, NGOs, representatives of the industry and policy makers in order to encourage dialogue and strengthen cooperation links in the energy sector in East Africa. The event allowed to enhance awareness of the real needs of Science, Technology and Innovation related to Energy Access and Efficiency, and to foster discussions on how the Higher Education system can contribute to this.
